Lena Pharmacy, Ho, a division of Lena Health Services, donated a new Electrocardiogram (ECG) machine to the Ho Teaching Hospital in the Volta Region. The donated equipment will boost augment existing resources and boost the capacity of the hospital to better manage emergency cases. The machine worth GHS9,000 was provide by Lena Pharmacy in response to an appeal by the hospital to the pharmacy for support.

CEO of Lena Health Services Mr. Richard K. Odor said the company had received numerous requests for assistance, but the decision to support Ho Teaching Hospital was based on its role as a central point for specialist care in the Volta Region. Mr. Odor said the ECG machine will be used at the emergency unit to support the care of patients with serious conditions that demand an ECG print.

Assistant Director of Medical Affairs at Ho Teaching Hospital Dr. Lord Mensah, expressed gratitude to Lena Health Services and said the donation came in at a time the department was considering how it might resource the emergency ward to enable it function properly. Dr. Mensah called for more support from other benevolent individuals and organisations.

Before receiving the new ECG Machine, Ho Teaching Hospital hand only one ECG machine at the emergency ward, which was already reeling from the pressure of high demand and use.
